Dr Akhil Gupta BDS (Hons)
London MFDS RCS(Ed)


Akhil is one of the principal dentists at Deddington Dental and took over the running of the practice in September 2015. His aim is to provide high quality dental care to the local community. As well as Deddington Dental he works at dental practices in Oxford, Didcot and Newbury. Dr Gupta has an interest in cosmetic orthodontic treatment and providing the best quality care possible. Apart from teeth he has a passion for travel and photography and has many stories he can share with you.

Dr Tajinder Sihra BDS London

Dr Taj Sihra is also the co-principal dentist with us. She gains satisfaction from treating nervous patients and helping them to overcome their fears of dental treatment. She also has a keen interest in cosmetic dental procedures and facial aesthetics having been trained by Dr Bob Khanna. She has also completed a certified course in implant placement and is proud to be able to offer them as a restorative option.

Dr Kristlee S Fernandes BDS
2002, MDS (Endodontics)


Kris Graduated from Goa Dental College in 2002 with a bachelor of dental surgery and Masters of dental surgery in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics. He Now consults in more than 10 practices in the UK around Oxford, London, Birmingham and Wolverhampton. Kris has had several publications in international journals and is one of the inventors of a medicament for failed root canal treatments. He loves treating challenging cases, especially teeth with a poor prognosis. His warm, caring and professional nature makes the patient experience pleasant and calming. At Deddington Dental, Kris accepts internal and external referrals for endodontic treatment.

Dr Maria Urdiales-Viedma BDS
PGCert (Aesthetic Dentistry) KCL

After Graduating and working in private practices in Spain, Maria moved to the UK in 2010 to gain a different experience. She has always enjoyed dentistry from a cosmetic perspective and completed her Post Graduate Certificate with Kings College in 2017. She currently works as a general dental practitioner and has a calm and caring approach that has helped many patients who suffered with dental anxiety to overcome their fear of the dentist. She has an interest in Periodontal (gum disease) problems and is proud to offer her services in Deddington now.

Dr Sophia Puri BDS MFDS RCS(Ed)

Sophia qualified from Kings College University in London. She is currently working as a general dental practitioner in South London and visits Deddington Dental monthly to carry out tooth extractions. Having spent a year training as an Oral and Maxillofacial Senior House Officer in a hospital in North West London, she is able to tackle more complicated extractions of broken down teeth and wisdom teeth. Her empathetic nature helps to put patients at ease during these procedures and make the experience as comfortable as possible. At present she is also completing a course in Advanced Operative and Aesthetic Dentistry with the Aspire Dental Academy.

Miss Karen Cheetham


Karen has been with the practice since 2015 and took over the role as our Practice Manager in 2017. She is local to Deddington and is very experienced in dental nursing and management, having worked both in private practice in Oxford and previously here at Deddington Dental. She is excellent at calming anxious patients making their treatment more relaxing. She prides herself on providing the best experience for patients and keeping up to date with the latest CQC policies and procedures. Outside of work she has Myla and Frankie (two cheeky miniature schnauzers) to keep her busy on long walks through the local countryside.

Mrs Clare Walker


Clare joined us in 2017 as a dental nurse. She has since become our lead nurse in cross infection control within the practice. She has a great deal of experience qualifying from dental nursing in 2011. She has a great nature and is passionate about what she does. She has worked in and around Oxfordshire over the past few years and has now decided on a more long term position closer to home. Outside of work Clare has a passion for gardening and has recently gained her RHS level 2 certificate.

Mrs Gemma Bosher


Gemma joined the practice in 2017 as our trainee dental nurse having previously been a beauty therapist for 19 years. Fancying a change of career, Gemma has become a committed and valuable member of the team. She recently qualified in January 2019. She is an eager learner, taking it on herself to read up on all things dentistry before her course began. She is very diligent in her work and a great asset to the practice. Her previous background gives her a very calming influence, especially with the more nervous patients.

Mrs Caroline Birks

Caroline joined the practice in 2018 as a part time nurse. She has worked within private practices in and round Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire for 25 years. Caroline has a special interest in implant treatment and assisted with her first case in 1993. She is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and experience with us and is keen to further her education to take on extended duties such as impression taking, suture removal, fluoride application and oral hygiene instruction. In her spare time Caroline and her husband enjoy trips away in their camper van with their three boys and whippet ‘Dottie’, they also enjoy attending classic car meets.
